SKILLS NEEDED IN THE WORKFORCE

Building and Construction

Two major projects have been implemented from the Building and Construction Industry Action Plan:

The development of a Building and Construction industry careers website (for students, employers, careers advisers, Registered Training Organisations and parents); and

The promotion of training to the industry through a project marketing the benefits of training and skills development to employers and employees. An extensive background report has been undertaken by the Task Force, that highlights the training information needs of this industry. A strategy is being developed for marketing the real skills outcomes from the VET system to industry.
