SKILLS NEEDED IN THE WORKFORCE

Marine Manufacturing, Sales and Service 

The Marine Manufacturing, Sales and Service industry was identified as an area that needed to be examined as a result of the Engineering Working Group processes.  A Working Group was formed and released its Report and an Action Plan in May 2003.  The Action Plan aims to:

• improve employer engagement with Marine industry qualifications
• increase opportunities for existing workers
• enhance the profile of the industry amongst job seekers
• raise the profile of the industry

AiGroup are currently developing Zoom3, a website and CD-ROM promoting the range of occupations and career pathways in the Marine industry.
